Pay attention to color, fonts, spacing, clutter, image sizes, download time, navigation etc. Email your finds to: smallandround@me.com for discussion. Be prepared to talk about at least two “good” and two “bad” web sites.

We will be using a demo site or your own project and converting it into a html page. Demo: Using Photoshops slice tool and crop tools to save images, Building a new html page that matches the structure of your original layout in PS.
Uploading Your Project
We will be uploading our web projects. Also learn how a FTP client works. Demo: Uploading your project to the web using a FTP client.
Search Engine Optimization and Content Management
At this point you will need to optimize your pages for search. We will also learn how to manage multiple web pages. Demo: Adding key words, description and other other useful SEO tags.
Site Design Workshop
Hopefully by this point in the semester we will have created a web site that is at least 3/4 complete and is only in need of some tweaking and linking to be ready for uploading. This weeks class will give you time to do that. Also we can add meta-tags, page descriptions and check our links etc.
Did you get server space yet? Did you get a domain yet? Need both for next week, ask if you have questions.
Week 9. Uploading, testing, troubleshooting and modifications
We will take it in turns to upload the contents of your root folder to the hosting server that your domain name is registered to. With the site “up” we can test it to verify it works and make notes to rectify any problems. AND make corrections if necessary
Uploading new material
With your site up and functioning and some time left on the clock, we can explore more drastic redesign possibilities, or perhaps learn better how to upload without Dreamweaver, entirely using html, or maybe create interactive buttons, animations and etc.
Make up class to be announced.
